Containing Costs for Mediation

The Cost of Mediation is often Determined By:

1. Time spent mediating: 

Simply put, the hours spent mediating which could be for half-day, full day, or over several weeks for very complex cases.

2. Complexity of the matter: 

Is the matter multifaceted, with many moving parts? The number of issues brought forth will contribute to the time spent mediating. 

3. Total aggregate of issues brought to Mediation: 

Are salient issues being brought such as decision making/time sharing, school choice, or mobility matter or all of the above.

4. Degree of resistance encountered: 

It is hoped that both parties come to mediation with the distinct purpose of trying to compromise so as to reach settlement. However, this may not always be the case.
